I've had LinkedIn Premium for the past year (military vets get 1 free year) and I don't see the point in it. The premium job insights tool is useless, who cares who's viewed my profile, and Inmail is little value add. Does anyone really see a benefit in paying $30/mo for next to nothing? TC: 230K
Linkedin premium doesn't worth a shit
I got it for one month just to see who was seeing my profile after I applied to jobs. Letting it expire now
Linkedin premium either for recruiters who are mass messaging people, or for anybody interested getting a high off who "viewed" their profile
Only useful for messaging recruiters directly which I’ve had a lot of success with. Way better than applying online
What do you write to them? You use a template?
Highly useful tool if you are looking for a change. Other times you don’t really need it.
Where are you getting $30/mo. It’s $60/mo
What’s the difference between business and career ? Does Career have inmails and LinkedIn Learning ?
It’s useful if you want a side hustle and or consideration for things like Board seats. I get contacted regularly for short consulting engagements (1-3 hours). My rate is $500/hr and I make an extra ~ $20K a year doing it. Based on the content, posts, articles I wrote (do ~ half a dozen a year), I was contacted by a small private company within my “wheelhouse”looking for Board Members. I make another $75K a year with that, and if the company ever goes public get some stock that may be worth something. Point is, it’s a good way to advertise yourself professionally. If you just use it to look for jobs, it’s probably not a useful $30 a month.
Respect the side hustle and congrats on the board seat. Yeah totally agree that for your average job seeker like me it's not worth it.
How do you get contacted for short term consulting engagements?
Huh? 1 year I got for 100$ (from within the app was much cheaper than on web). For that price I find it ok when starting looking for jobs.
It’s not worth it if you’re only using it as a job hunt mechanism. Mostly for companies or yea if you have a service based business where you constantly need to be finding new opportunities to sell your services
Inmail the recruiters directly sometimes that’s good. Some courses are ok. Rest is worthless agreed
