What's the best perk at G: got an offer and thinking of accepting.
Don't take it, they are slowly eliminating teams. Microsoft is the safest company right now.
MSFT has a ton of silent layoffs going on.
Free good food at breakfast, lunch and dinner
Cheap Avis rental
Microsoft also has this
How cheap does G has?
Not working for Amazon
It's already full of Amazonians.
I come from Salesforce, and thought Google’s perks would be better. Food’s better(and free), but other perks arent as good. No ESPP :( Plus at SF, I had 5k each year to spend on education, here I gotta pay 1/3rd myself. Many other small things, like wellness allowance is lower etc. This is for a european country
Dang google doesn’t have ESPP?
Nope :( I was very surprised too. This is like the most basic thing
I like how there’s an actual barista to make your coffee. Meta has good food, but we gotta make our own espresso in NYC. And people do not clean up afterwards.
Wow that’s surprising to hear for Meta. Even LinkedIn NYC has two awesome bars with great baristas.
There’s a proper coffee shop in Menlo Park, at least. The line is terrible though.
Shit, is G getting shitter than MSFT. When I joined my manager himself told me about it and said a lot of ppl do part time MS/MBA and if I want I can avail it.
Why does this perk need manager approval? It was really interesting to hear about all of these nice perks, but makes me wonder how many others need managers approval, I.e. - cellphone and internet reimbursement
Google is cutting perks left and right. Honestly best perk I can think of is 50% 401K match (which even msft has).
Shit, which all perks are cut. Looks like that's the reason the recruiter did not brag about G perks for selling me the offer letter.
Company might be shitty but I heard from my friend about Intuit which has great perks (no free food though). 125% match for 401k, subsidized health premiums etc.
The best perk is the disappointment you are gonna have once you start
Probably never be impressed again if you meet someone who works or worked at Google
Best perk: layoff severance.
