Block/Square Layoffs
Has anybody heard about Block/Square layoffs that happened today? My recruiter was just let go and I don’t know who to follow up with for my current application process.

No email, but post in Slack channels. It’s official.
I texted him about feedback from my interviews from yesterday and he said he was just laid off

It was around half of the talent team from rumors. Hope they can bounce back really sucks. They were the only affected group… for now.

Could happen unfortunately. While I was interviewing earlier this year, a bunch of interviews were cancelled during the interview process, 2 of them after a verbal offer.

Yikes. I’m currently in the interview process with them. Seems like a terrible time to join. Companies always cut the recruiters first before making other cuts. My heart goes out to all the recruiters, I think this is a horrific market for recruiters to be joining right now.
why bad time to join? unlikely to layoff new hires as existing low performers r prob cut first
Dropbox this is the same logic people used for this entire year of layoffs... Google, Meta, Amazon, Microsoft, Salesforce and the list goes on. Every single one of those companies DID layoff many new hires and there's blind posts of people with that experience. This has been proven untrue.
