Anyone else doing work for someone else's bonus? I'm actively working on propaganda work that will never see the light of day. I know that the more projects your team takes on the fatter your bonus. Context. We have a non technical manager that runs a team of 6 devs. He doesn't know how to manage us so we often get work based off some buzzword meeting he attends, and that work is usually "postponed and will get back to it later" for some other buzzword junk the following week. Rinse repeat. I'm torn because this isn't the right thing to do, but it's gotten to the point that we all just LC all day and ignore him. Maybe I'm just bitter. I'm interested in seeing if this is true at other banks. TC: 150k YOE: 7

It's good you can atleast leetcode in work hrs. I am stuck doing work that all devs in my team know is going to get shelved due to "upstream or downstream incompleteness". Oh and leetcode/hackerrank, etc., are banned on our work stations.

All banks have a heavily tiered bonus structure where staff get very little and managers get unrightfully more. No joke I know staff who get 5k bonuses while 1st line managers 30k+ and 2nd line 100k+ and probably 500k+ next level etc Then again isn't this the same in most companies?
Yeah amex is bad about clueless tech managers. To get a bonus, just talk up projects and get time with your skip level to show off
