A SA study today says vaccinated (but not boosted) have 1/40th the antibody response to Omicron, but Pfizer says its data (unpublished) shows people with a booster shot have enough antibodies to resist omicron. This is on the whole good news. 1/40th is better than nothing and may still help people avoid severe disease, and if the booster really does have efficacy then Christmas doesn't need to be cancelled.
Please stay in your house 24/7 triple masked anyways.
Omg you guys 😩
Lol. Textbook projection
Seriously look at the thread: I post summarizing two studies that came out today and the moron meme parade starts up Idiot trolls with nothing intelligent to say, spamming.
If you get 2 boosters then you’ll be protected against the common sense virus as well.
Unlike you, your common sense got disabled
🍿
What does this mean for my work from 🏡, no commute, can live wherever I want, and do whatever I want situation?
I think the news is still evolving too rapidly for anyone to make a policy decision.
👍
Of course it works. If anyone is paying attention, they’ve said the vaccine causes an immune system response to all the variants. The spike proteins are similar enough. They can probably tell before even testing anyone.
Well that's the question--how similar the spike is. We've all been waiting for this information for the last two weeks. They HAVEN'T tested anyone, they have looked at how it works in a petri dish, basically what you suggested Actual real world results will take a couple months for controlled studies, and at least weeks for uncontrolled public health data
so, what do you suggest ? can we wait these several months and just watch O cases to rocket ?
I could not agree more with the logic. Remember, wearing a helmet in your car is safer than a seat belt alone. May our ignorant society someday embrace science and mandate helmets for all.
Another person with no intelligent comment, triggered by the news that the vaccine may work vs omicron More proof those antivaxxers are pretty stupid
Straight to a strawman insult? You are better than that, we probably work side by side friend. I believe we both agree you and I. I didn't mean to upset you to the point of insult. I'm not arguing it doesn't work. I'm arguing that a healthy immune system doesn't need medical intervention to defeat this virus. I'm fully supportive of anyone who wants the vaccine, I'd even encourage someone with weak immune system to consider it. For a healthy person, it's a helmet in your car (with an unfortunate possible side effect of killing you - source: VAERS, aka 'science').
You did not link to any studies though Are we just supposed to believe you or Pfizer when you say “we did some tests and studies, results are great!”? Thought you were pro-science. I assumed you’d be more diligent than that
The SA study aligns with and corroborates the Pfizer data so you can view that as some level of independent verification. I think people who go around automatically disbelieving everything published by Pfizer are crazy and suffering mental disorders. Pfizer will publish and the data will be good quality. My vote here is trust, but verify when they publish. This is currently the best data we have. Period. The big limitation here is that it's all lab work and not a human trial, but it's what we can know a couple weeks in. Human trials take months.
Where are these studies? I want to see them, i want to read the data Dont just say “google it” You seem to have specific studies that convinced you of something I want to read the same exact sources, so I don’t fall victim to any “antivax fake news bs” ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
