Hi.. I need some help with the offer evaluation for Box. Can some insiders share your thoughts on these? 1. Why the company hasn't hit 1B in revenue even enough being there for close to 15 years? When evaluating the offer, I'm more concerned for the outlook of the company. Can some insiders shed their thoughts on this? 2. There is definitely difference between box and other major cloud storage(like google drive). The administrative controls, workflows, security seems to be the differentiator. But, why doesn't Box have its own doc processor(correct me if i'm wrong). 3. Does Box provide merit increases/refreshers yoy? (from the posts here, seems like refreshers are rare). Current TC ~300k(Lead) Box offer - 390K(Staff software engineer) Location : SF yoe - 8 years #box
3. Merit increases are there, ~4-5% once a year. Stock refreshers are not rare but they mostly are for top performers, usually much lower than initial grant.
Nope, you can get as high as 7% (maybe more?)
Box is in the middle of a turnaround, and recently had the best quarter in years (also 250k quarterly revenue). Tech debt is heavy, but improving. Shedding some talent but my POV is that culture needed some changing. Seems to be less exploitation of rockstars and more evenly spread work.
2. There are box notes which is a doc processer for notes. There is also integration with Google docs and office frontend to directly edit files in box. 3. Merit increases yes. Meets expectations results in ~5% raise. Refreshers yes, but weak
No official refresh policy
That's a good offer for 8 yoe
Is this your only offer? Base & RSU SPLIT!?
Very less or no refreshers.
What job type and level is that for at Box?
Sorry. Updated the post.
