I interviewed at Airbnb this week and have to say it was the best (of many) interview experience I have ever been through. My months of leetcoding didn't prepare me at all for this loop, and that's actually a great thing. It's the first time every single interview in the loop tested me on something that was both applicable to the specific position, and thus material I would only learn from real work experience. Every single interviewer was excited about their work, and excellent at communicating. I've been interviewing at other well known companies, and it was getting discouraging how everyone I talked to appeared to hate themselves and hate being at work. Airbnb employees were a much needed breath of fresh air. Lastly, the office space is like no other. 1455 is pretty cool, but is put to shame by 888's design. Thanks again Airbnb for putting so much work into your candidate experience, and know that it makes a huge difference!
I wish airbnb has a hardware division
Will apply immediately
Okay but if you take my offer then can I have your spot at fb?
What skills did the different interviews test you on? Refactoring? Testing?
Lol funny, refactoring and testing are probably the most common day to day work for many of us. But it was more like writing projects/features from scratch and fixing bugs in existing projects.
How could I have made such a funny mistake? Fixing bugs and refactoring are utterly diametric
So the interview procedure for Airbnb is totally different? You had to code on your laptop even for onsite interview?
Yeah the candidates need to run the code on the laptop.
Yes! You can bring your own device and setup.
Their cross functional interview sucks
I disagree. If you read the cultural values beforehand, and there are only 4 of them, then the questions are pretty easy to prepare for.
Agreed!
Nice try, Airbnb HR intern
