What's going to happen to the deal? Is China blocking the deal, or its closing on Oct 30th? What do bc/vmw folks think? NYSE is de-listing vmw from Oct 30th. Is that sign of deal closing? #Broadcom #vmware #tech
We were officially indirectly being told today that layoffs will happen CIBG
What's your source?
No one has yet got official offer letters from Broadcom. How can they close on Oct 30th?
I’m sure there are people here waiting with new offers hoping to also get severance. If the date gets pushed back we might see a wave of exits on our side in the next 2-3 weeks.
What are people thinking within vmware? Is the deal just getting delayed? Or blocked completely?
delayed
Where you see NYSE de-listing Everywhere I read it says date can change

Deal is closing on Oct 30th and with 20-30% layoffs. Moral is low and lots of uncertainty.
There is no delisting notice. It's a suspension notice for 10/30, which is the first step in delisting. But suspension can be reversed, and trading resumed. I've seen nothing about the forms required for actual delisting yet.
Broadcom has started sending out official offer letters to VMware folks from today. That's a positive sign. Has they decided to move ahead without China approval? Why are they sending offers to hundreds of folks, if they are uncertain?
@collins looks like you know more than us. Why are you so interested though? 🧐
Have new offers been lower or higher or same compensation?
Much more RSUs. Base is same.
No one knows bro..
What's the mood at vmware about this?
Low morale in general, very few people are working, rest are on PTO. People just wanted to know their fate and the deal to close asap.
