This post would make more sense for folks on visa. I was one of the unfortunate H1B visa holders (born in India) I took the decision to fix this uncertainty applied for Canadian Green card and got it in 10 months. Then moved to Canada 🇨🇦 right on the airport the officer greeted me with “Welcome home” wowww have you seen any country so friendly to immigrants Been 4 years here love my life no uncertainty great TC, easy to stand out in subpar talent that Canada has. Already a citizen of this great country. All the visa holders do yourself a favor and consider applying for Canadian GC we need powerful faang folks like you to run this country. Especially with all the layoffs the stress it’s creating on visa holders! You have no worries here join me Ooo CANADA TC : 340
YOE?
I’d love to work with people who describe their colleagues as subpar, must be an amazing teammate
Works at Amazon. What do you expect 😂
Not describing my colleagues as subpar, overall if it’s easier to get hired in FANG than In UsA as most of the talent here works in service based comapani3/
I love Canada and the people there. Don’t plan to move there though as I love Bay Area too.
Useless comment 😂
What does after tax TC look like?
Canada sucks. Overpriced housing, high tax rates, run down healthcare system, horrible federal government, sky high inflation, low TC, increasing crime rates and horrible winter weather. Also needing "Powerful faang folks to run this country"? and "subpar talent" in Canada? You seem delusional, no wonder you like Canada.
Woah you seem so pissed. I only agree about overpriced housing. Healthcare is working look at the lifespan it’s higher than America. Idea of open healthcare is fair. At times it delays access but they are working on partnering with private
Again horrible winter only if your living in Alberta. Otherwise it’s more like New York
I love everything about Canada except the weather. 6 months of the year it’s too cold. Compare that with the Bay Area and it’s not even a question.
6 months of winter WTH! It’s barely 3 months man. Gets better right after march atleast in Toronto
@awskid, nah man. It might be better than the deep winter -20 C, but it’s still hella colder than the bay. I lived in Toronto for 10+ years in my youth, I remember trudging through snow waist deep, watching ice freeze an inch thick on the the tree branches, staying home ALL WINTER because it’s too cold to go out. Bay Area now, it’s never <10 C. Huge quality of life difference.
I'd love to move there but not enough CRS points. Need a job offer to make it to about 490s 🤐
If you can’t get a company to sponsor you for a work permit, you’d probably get shit TC anyway. Wouldn’t be worth moving.
I work for a British company with no presence in Canada. No way to get sponsored. And companies in Canada aren't responding to applications from overseas candidates who require work authorization.
340k CAD TC? What’s your YOE?
And what's the tax on it?
Also forgot to add my spouse works too, so total combined incomes is well above 400k easy life. Taxes a bit on the higher end but they don’t have a flat system. And you get a lot of benefits like if I lose my job I am guaranteed employee insurance, on retirement I have Canada pension
