I'm interested in learning more about the culture. I'd like to apply to a position in Kirkland in a month or two. I love BI (it's how I got into development), but I'm definitely not an expert in it. Love working with data, but haven't used the software. How much of a data/analytics pro do you have to be to work there? 6yoe @amazon spread around different teams. Been at AWS for <1 year, but distributed systems is quickly becoming my favorite type of work so far. I saw a post from a year ago that made me think that my amount of experience could make for a Sr. position, but...again, not an analytics pro, and as I've been at AWS for <1 year, not an AWS pro either... If I came in at entry, could a promo be done in around 2 years?
Will do!
Not everyone at Tableau is an analytics pro or working on analytics problems. Its a huge enterprise saas software and has lots of just regular software challenges to solve.
Awesome! I saw a few job listings and started to wonder if there was a legit requisite. Most job descriptions anywhere want you to be a pro at everything, but since I am not as familiar with the company's reputation, I wanted to ask. It would also make sense for some of the senior positions on specific teams to require expertise in the area they're working on. I should find a recruiter, haha.
