Friday afternoon I have undocked the Citi bike. As I undocked and pulled the bike out, A guy has come over and shoved me hard and stole the Citi bike. This happened in NYC near Penn station. I called 911 immediately and filled police complaint. It's been over 24hrs hours and bike is still not docked. They were 8+ cameras in that area. Police found recording of the incident. Hope they catch the guy. Trying to resolve with Citi bike not to charge me for lost bike due to robery. Notified them and they said they will send me steps to resolve the issue. After notifying Citi bike that I haven't received any email from them and 24 hrs passed. They checked their system and figured out they sent it wrong email address. Have asked me to wait another 24hrs for the email. Waited for 24hrs and yet still no email. Meanwhile bike is still not docked and I am being charged to my credit card. Called them for third time, they finally sent out an email. I replied back immediately with police report. By the way, the email has following note - "Please note that providing a police report does not waive you of liability and is meant to help further our investigation. If a police report is not provided within 5 days, we will continue with the charging of your account for the fee of the lost bike." Does that mean I still owe them money if bike is not recovered by cops? Citibike replied saying the report I sent is not full report. It was just incident report id slip. I need to get full police report with all details of the incident. Tried calling the police support phone numbers provided on the incident report id slip for more details Sunday evening. No one answered the call. Tried on Monday (today), they told me how to file a request online to get police report, which will be delivered by old fashioned mail soon. Let me know if anyone had similar issue and steps they took to resolve this. Update: Got the police report delivered in mail after 10 weeks. Lyft charged me 250usd instead of 1200usd after 5th week of incident. Refunded today 250usd amount after submitting police report. Lyft also charged 24hrs of citibike use charge. Just charge back on your credit card if they make it that hard.

Block your credit card until the issue is resolved. They cannot keep charging you if the case is under investigation.
Actually as far as charges, even if you file a lost stolen on your card the charges can still come through. I've worked in card services and seen it over and over.
Worked for CC companies for over a decade. You can ask to put a merchant or a recurring charge on a block list. After that you are not liable.
This sucks but good luck. You won't likely get a full police report but they know that. Why? Because Police don't give full police reports for an active investigation. I had to wait almost 2 months to get even the ability to request for it. The vendor was major pain to work with about it and kept asking for full report.
If I were you, I'll block my cc.
