I lived in a bunch of cities and went through a lot of online dating before finding my current partner. DC and Boston were the best of the bunch to me. (Other cities tried: LA, SF, Philly, Albuquerque, DFW)

Can you talk more about DC,Philadelphia ,Albuquerque,DFW?

DC was great - lots of young, ambitious people, heavier on high achieving women than men. Philly was just hard - many fewer people of similar career objective, at least from a density perspective (had to search through a lot more no’s) Albuquerque was not for me - it’s referred to as the land of entrapment for a good reason. People there, including engineers and scientists at the national labs, were just content to keep doing what they were doing. You don’t have to want to rule the world, but some forward momentum towards something seems like a good idea. DFW was filled with attractive and at least surface-level-friendly people. As someone more aligned with coastal political values, I found it difficult to get beyond a few surface-level dates.
