The downfall of Coachella needs to be studied. First they had a headliner last year, Frank Ocean who failed to live up to the hype and not even show up the second weekend. Then this year they produce the worst lineup in YEARS. Now they can't even sell out a single tier on weekend 2 which is kinda sad. The hype got to them and they thought they can charge premium for a mid a** lineup. Although a non crowded Coachella can have its pros 👀. IS the festival hype dead?
The festival hype is alive and kicking. The Coachella hype might been on a decline though. I saw IG stories of people who attended last year’s Coachella and it seemed extremely crowded. Plus, I heard it’s in the middle of nowhere in Coachella valley with limited infrastructure.
It’s the best festival in the world For a reason This year was awesome
No Beyonce no coachella
Unpopular opinion: Beyoncé is greatly overrated.
Unpopular indeed
No Elton John, no Coachella
Fuji rock and summer sonic do this in Japan. Increasing prices and the lineups are terrible. But it sells out in days so nothing can be done
No Nickelback, no Coachella!
Womp womp 🎺
No Diljit ain't a Coachella
Who?
People go to Coachella for casual sex and drugs, not music. When it becomes too expensive alternatives are many.
That's a lame af reason to go when it's one of the best produced festivals in the US. But I felt the same way when I went. Influencers everywhere not even enjoying all the amazing acts around them
I’ve never been but it always struck me as more of an event people attend to see and be seen rather than casual sex and drugs. Mostly lame influencer types on their phones influencing rather than being present and enjoying the experience. The line up matters, of course, but I think it’s vibe of the attendees that make a festival.
Everyone that is great and wholesome and has a niche, grows or franchises and becomes shit. Every festival has gone through the motions. Everything has
I would be down to pay for tickets and the experience would they make things more convenient. Stop having concert in the middle of nowhere. At the prices being charged, the crowd that can afford it doesn’t consider living in tents, taking buses, dealing with large lines for overpriced water, food and drinks and experience they want to participate in after paying 1000s of dollars for accommodation and tickets. Also, folks who could pay for VIP already live in big cities, where most of the artists have concerts. Coachella is disconnected from its consumer base. They’ve been milking the same cow for a while, and now the milk might just be turning rancid.
What are you talking about? The typical Coachella attendee is mid 20’s breaking the 6 figure salary and looking to impress friends by posting highly post processed photos to show how great being there was. Since they are young, they don’t care sleeping in a made up tent with poor amenities and eating overpriced crappy food for a couple of days. Clearly no one over 30/40 are looking for that kind of experience. Typically the 30+ people making 200k+ are booking more meaningful and refined experiences. So I think Coachella is targeting the right audience for them. It’s all about selling the ‘exclusivity’ so the new corporate 6 figure kids can show their blue collar friends their wonderful lifestyle 😂 TC: 680k
