Initially talked to Coinbase about a role that is outside of the Eng Org (Trust and Safety) for an IC5 Senior role even though the role is for an Engineer title. Initial quote was Base 148,500 Equity 150,000/4 (37,500 a year) This seems quite low for an IC5. Anyone from #Coinbase can chime in? This is for a remote role in Washington state. From what I understand itβs 90% or SF/NYC for salary.
Tell them to pay you in Bitcoin, your TC will triple
This option actually exists. You can choose what % of your salary you want to be automatically converted to BTC.
Equity is standard. You could try to negotiate but probably not much wiggle room. My advice, join ASAP to get the lower share price. If you decline, you will probably regret 2 months from now. Cannot disclose more specifics. Search "Coinbase IPO" on Blind and decide for yourself
The role title has Engineer in it and itβs an Engineering role as far as I can tell but the role itself falls under Trust and Safety which falls outside of Engineering, apparently? That equity is standard for IC5 non-Eng? 150,000/4? So from what I can tell IC5 equity is: 150000/4 non eng 400000/4 eng?
Sorry I didn't see the "outside of eng org" part. Anyway, offers are more or less standardized based on roles and locations.
That's an IC4 offer not a senior offer.
Can you send link to the job description. Trust and safety team i know falls under eng org
Sounds low but who knows
