Coinbase TC - is it worth?
IC4 (L5, one level above new grad) is comprised of 165K base + 5% bonus + 75K equity grant. Sign on can be 10-15% based on interview performance. This would be 165+8.25+75+16.5 =~265 TC, minus annual bonuses based on performance. Perks seem great though (lots of added stipends for health and remote work, unlimited PTO, etc). Is it worth? How does the performance bonus work, and how much is typically granted for an average engineer? Any coinbase ic4s want to share their tc? TC: 240
You are making a lot at Amazon(based on the fact that your got E4 in CB) and most likely won't benefit from base increase. CB seems like the right path
Here is my 2 cents. 1. The equity offer is terrible for you. Taking away all the upside. And “protecting” you in the downside. Any other tech company that offers annual vests is stealing from you. 2. Work life balance is so bad you cant even be offline over the weekends. Forget about PTO all together. People get PIP’d left and right for taking PTO. 3. Most top talent is leaving now and starting their own companies or joining other early stage startups. You are walking in with literally 100s of new hires from Amazon. The company culture is shifting to Amazon real fast. Best of luck.
