Which companies have hiring committees, boot camps and delayed start dates? I know Google and Facebook HC offers are valid for 1 year; with Google you still have to get a team match and a new TC before joining (only the HIRE@Level decision itself is valid for 1 year at Google, and you have to get a team match before knowing TC); with FB you may have to get a single interview past 6 months (team match is after boot camp). I also heard Amazon offers could be valid for 1 year depending on the stream and org (far less common than Google or Meta, since nearly always you interview directly with the team (plus a bar raiser) at Amazon). Any other companies? Also, isn't it weird that it's the top companies that are available as the backup insurance plan? Do any other top companies let you interview and start 6mo to 1 year later? #hiringcommittee #tech #hiring
Meta.
OP, if you don't mind sharing, why do you want to get an offer now if you want to join a year later?
Microsoft, because I work at Amazon.
Is fb offer valid for one year? Ie. Can I choose to join 11 months from now
How to communicate this to recruiter? Do you tell you deny the offer but wanted to join in future?
I told the recruiter. They said i need to sign and put in a date. Then I said we can put may, and they were ok with this. But ideally I want to delay is further, as my tc is high right now until cliff
