Companies that bound RSU refreshers by target compensation

It is well known that Amazon limits RSU refreshers by the target compensation. So if the stock went up significantly, we might get no refreshers at all since the forecasted comp is above the target comp. What companies don’t limit refreshers? E.g., Google, Meta,… What companies share the same Amazon-like approach with “target comp”? #nvidia #mongodb #snowflake #confluent #robinhood #tesla #apple #microsoft #uber #airbnb

LinkedIn has target comp issues and won’t even fix cliffs most of the time

I believe snowflake does the same. No guaranteed refreshers which pretty much means if you making a lot, you wont get anything.

This. Big downside of snowflake…

Snowflake FYIFV^2 Mar 9

I can confirm that is indeed what we do here

Pretty much just Meta doesn't. Netflix is fixed comp so lucrative. There might be others who don't cap but stock isn't lucrative.

Amazon Ncpr40 OP Mar 2

Btw, how about Salesforce?

Salesforce zuel Mar 2

No guaranteed refresher, also it's quite less of you get it. Base is a little higher than others.

What about Nvidia, MongoDB, Confluent, Uber?

MongoDB gadzooks Mar 3

MongoDB does not limit refreshers afaik

Confluent d8acat Mar 5

Confluent does limit annual RSU refresh based on forecasted annual TC.

I don't know if that's a good thing but Microsoft has fixed annual RSU irrespective of whether one is in band or not. We have seniors from 220k to 400k based on where they joined. How many years have they been here. I would rather prefer the target comp so I keep stable TC and not hit cliff

You are trading off risk reward. It doesn’t make sense to use RSUs as a vehicle of compensation and limit the potential gain. Why not just pay all cash like Netflix?

I like Coinbase type compensation. Just allot yearly refresher to match target. We are still fine to hold on to 1 year of volatility.
