I’m in sales operations and I make $100K/year and $45K/year in commission so all in $145K/year. They just did a “leveling effort” and removed my commission, moved me to marketing and only raised my salary to $104K/year and gave me a 10% annual bonus so all in $114.4K/year which is ~$30K less a year and mentioned that they will not be considering people for any more merrit increases this year. Am I wrong to feel like I totally am getting screwed over here? How should I approach this with my manager? *Note: our yearly reviews haven’t happened yet and my one year mark with the company is coming up in a few months. #startup #equity #pay #help #startup #turned #corporate
Approach your manager with a two week notice. If sales is not commission based then what's the motivation?
They moved me to marketing ops based on the work I do
Kind of sounds like they demoted you
🚩🚩🚩 how are you not completely freaking out because they eliminated commission ?
I am freaking out
"I am freaking out" The straightforward answer with lack of follow up makes me think either you are not really panicking or you're having a total mental breakdown lol Bring up the numbers to your manager and CC HR and other people. If they are not freaking out, time to find a new job. That's all you really can do. Good luck!
Screwed
Yeah that’s bullshit. GTFO, plenty of companies are hiring AE’s right now (Walmart,AMZN,instacart)
Are you in sales? Would love to chat about some Amazon sales positions!
What kind of sales positions are available at Amazon? Thought about going FAANG myself for either sales or management
Any HR people in here? I thought it was illegal to give an offer at one pay structure and the completely change the person's position/pay structure on a whim?
You are being screwed.
Time to make a move buddy! Gotta look after your own pockets.
Happened to when I went from hourly $165k/yr with overtime) to salary $100k :(
So many companies hiring. Move and then get married. Ez
Time to leave..
I was thinking the same thing but need a job - I’m in midst of buying a house and getting married next year!
Interview and leave when you land something, should be easier to make time for it without the pressure of hitting targets for commission
