Difficult to research on Glassdoor since the responsibilities of a Customer Success Manager vary so widely depending on the company. I believe we pay well under market... avg base is around $70k with a $10k variable. CSMs at Glassdoor are responsible for onboarding, managing advertising spend (PPC), driving product adoption, and working with sales rep on QBRs/renewals. CSMs do not own a quota but variable comp is tied to revenue retention and growth. Curious to hear how others in Customer Success are comped. Would be helpful to hear basic responsibilities of the CSM role at your company as well.
In Cisco there are varying grades, but as far as I know 8 is the low end which runs up to about $90k plus 12% annual bonus. 8 is virtual team, responsible for software adoption and organic expansion opportunities with ~70 customers. High end is grade 12, top of IC, up to $180 plus 25% bonus. 10-12 are considered high touch and work with smaller portfolio of customers more intensively, building stronger relationships. No quota but do have $ you're tasked to identify in new opportunities.
