Recently I got an offer at Deloitte, and the offer letter came in as solutions specialist. Is it really more like a tech support role then?? If not, can anyone speak to that? I'm concerned that once I leave Deloitte, I'll be at a disadvantage in the tech market because of where I've been and the title. Also what is the wlb like at Deloitte? The offer is straight 100k base; TC: 0, YOE: 2
100k base seems low for Deloitte, location? Yes might be tech support
location is remote, but i'm based in seattle
I don’t think it’s tech support but you’re supporting an on-site team so pretty much the equivalent of offshore but in US. Not bad if you’re laid off and need H1B if it’s remote, I’ve heard those solutions centres literally has piss overflowing the bathrooms
Hey FYI— if you leave within 2 years or something, you have to PAY BACK YOUR SIGNING BONUS!!
no signing bonus :)
There can be a lot of variety with Deloitte roles. If your background is not in tech support you will not be doing tech support work. Basically you get hired, managers look at your resume and if your skill set fits their needs then you can get staffed on their project. Most specialists do cloud infra/devops work it seems
The title indicates your offer is in the us deliver center model (specialized talent). The level is Consultant. You will work on consulting projects and you should have an interest in consulting.
I feel suicidal after joining the D, there is no work life balance. Sometimes idiotic managers call u at 2AM and ask to connect
The manager is from US?
How many days after the interview will Deloitte give feedback? I gave interview on April 11
Why would you go from Amazon to Delloite. Doesn’t sound too appealing personally. If you’re laid off and desperate for $$$, maybe take this role and keep interviewing.
I think it’s same as L5 SDE level in Amazon just less pay and more monotonous work.
