Hi, I have a received my contract for a full time position at Tech company and have to sign it soon. In the contract, there’s a section regarding employee engagement in other side hustle/activity/business: ”the employee may not carry out any other employment, assignments, Agency directly or indirectly, engage in any other “side business” whether it’s paid or not, without company’s written consent”. I’m also currently engaged in a side hustle/business that still mainly in research phase. To protect ourselves, we just form an LLC around it. The business does not have a conflict interest with Tech company. I was planning to spend my weekend or personal time on it! I’m still not quite sure whether it’s taking off or not … Given that, should I still disclose it with Spotify before signing the contract or not? I’m sure that a lot of people in tech also do some side hustle, but not sure when we should disclose that to the company and receive a consent the form?
Do not disclose. You’ll be fine.
Can you elaborate why?! Is it possible they withdraw the offer
Yea there’s a risk and they could potentially withdraw if they found out but make that extra money dude. Especially in this economy.
Request consent?
Do not disclose
