I am wondering how many people need to do daily report to manager and what level? I am asked to maintain a page and log my daily work, and also need to give tacking details when working on new project. I feel it is fine for new people to help them on track. But if you work on same team for long time, and become a senior level person, is it still needed? I am not feeling good when asked to do this.
You’re being set up for a pip. Especially at a senior role where most of your time may go into research, helping others, random things that need fixing etc
No pip. He even asks this for principle eng.
Then he’s micromanaging prick.
why? Micro management?
He mentions the dev director asked this. And all team members are asked. I am just so tired of this... so want to know what happens outside
Our entire eng org has to do one each week
Sending a report to your manager is a waste of time. However, I keep a TON of information in OneNote broken down by project and the type of work in the product life cycle. It ends up tracking action items, data, conclusions, and meeting notes.
Wow, you must be fun at parties...
@yjgguo Your reply is misplaced because that’s actually a good idea.
Include logging your daily work in your daily work log. Maybe he'll get the message
^^^^ OMG so much this!
Quit !! Too much micro management..

Azure DevOps
