Do you know if the company pays $120 to an agency, then how much does the contractor gets, if it is on W2? One time I heard it is about $80 paid to the contractor, and if the contractor goes 1099 or Corp2Corp, then it is about 20% more, at about $96 / hour. (and he has to pay FICA social security 100% instead of 50%). Is this about right? I am interested as to how it is at different companies, startups, large corps, or FAANG. #swe #contractor TC: 285k
When I worked for an agency, I was paid $75/hr. They charged the tech company $139/hr.
Wow, that’s almost half. Is it possible to contract directly with a large company, to cut out the middle man?
someone was saying large corps like to use the agency because then they won't be easily sued. They can always claim the person is an XYZ employee and not theirs and therefore not entitled to the stocks like FTE.
It all depends on the contracting company, and even the specific contract they have with the employee. Some only take a very small cut (5-10%), others take a huge bite (50%)
yes... such as what I heard was... was it Apple or some FAANG company. They only allow the agency to take a few dollars above, not like $60 above.
