My sole encounter with Google engineers in the workplace can be best described as follows: - They were selected for some work by a customer for primarily optics reasons. “We have the best and brightest on this! We are working in disruptive technologies! Admire their googliness.” - There was a problem that they were tasked with that is very well trodden for decades with some very minor wrinkles. - The basis of the best solution was more or less laid out in an IEEE standard that is universally adopted and very well known across industry, again with some minor wrinkles - In probing at their planned approach, I asked if they were familiar with this standard and they indicated they were not, and did not even bother to ask further questions about it to understand where I was going. - They ultimately totally failed to deliver Just total arrogance, lack of common sense, lack of any domain knowledge, lack of accountability

Nope, but I love that this exact story has played out more than once 😂

Agreed. I had a pm come in from Google. Harvard MBA. Fucking worthless. Just copies someone else's work and schedules meetings but can't drive anything. He's made more work for multiple engineering teams than done.

If a Harvard MBA is working a PM job, there's a reason....

This is a useless post. Give points if support for your argument

I'm from Google. I definitely don't recommend hiring us lmao. Honestly though, I think most folks are highly adaptable. Big Tech is a giant slush pool of folks from other Big Tech companies
