Wonder how many more we have to see this year before the holiday season. We are going to see some turbulence, brace yourselves for impact. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-11-30/doordash-to-slash-over-1-200-jobs-to-scale-back-rising-costs
Impressive severance 👀
That’s incredible severance
Was there any sign before layoff? Did people have time to interview before this happened?
No sign at all, we were told business is strong internally.
That's what I am surprised because recruiters from DD keeps reaching out even yesterday too
1250 people is 6% of the workforce. 20,000 people work at Doordash?
If they include all hourly employees, way less fte corporate, who from what I can see are the ones being hit.
Yes, this is so shady. Operations heavy companies often do this to downplay layoffs by including their hourly employees. Gopuff also did something like this.
Sucks but at least severance is good
I guess this explains the lack of response from recruiters for those interviewing, sorry to hear guys :(
Terrible, mostly recruiters I guess? But with that numbers Engineers have to get hit as well
