Hi, I got an offer from Microsoft, unable to decide if I should go ahead with this offer ? Please suggest YOE:6 Current: $82k (salaried position) Bonus:$5k Offer Base: $86,008 ($41.35 hourly) Sign on: $5k On hire stock: $10k Originally asked for $95k base salary. #executiveassistant #admin
What’s the role, assisting one executive or multiple? This is lower than I’d expect
Two senior directors and a general manager. Mind you this is for an EA position in Seattle.
86*40*52 = 178880, so 178K for a year?
$86,006 is the annual amount but it's an hourly position. So that would be $41.35 an hour.
Microsoft does have good benefits, but it honestly depends on your career goals. Your annual merit increase will be max 3%, as low as 1.5% if we hit a really bad recession. I’m just guessing your offer based on pay range is ATR-E, so you will only have two levels worth of promos before you hit the promo ceiling. If you can be happy just learning new things and you think the role and managers will be fulfilling, it can be a great company. But if you are very money motivated, you will likely be disappointed. You will also hit a stock cliff after your onboarding stock vests, as annual stock for ATR-E is max 6200, and most likely you will get 3200/year even if you are killing it. Most admin managers don’t give top rewards to admins even if you are killing yourself for the team. I didn’t even know onboarding stock was a thing for new admins now as we’ve only been stock eligible for two fiscal years now. YOE: 4 ATR-D
I'm not sure what an ATR-E is but this is great information. Thank you. I think this is a good foot in the door role and only see myself being in this role for a year or two tops. I made it known during my interview that ultimately I want to be a chief of staff.
Take it. It's $10k more than I was offered for a similar role with them.
Unreal
I should add I took a 15K pay cut to join and no stock offered at the time. I would expect you have 15+ YOE? I say this because I feel msft pays below market. But there's a tradeoff for other benefits. Sounds like you have a good deal.
