I'm a big fan of Michellin restaurant recommendations, but they also count things like quality of service and setting. They rate the entire experience. I'm on a different quest though: to try delicious food. There's probably a lot of overlap, but I suspect many places with incredible chefs fly under the Michellin radar because they have inconsistent waiting staff, tacky decor, etc. Is there a reputed elite restaurant list for the best food out there?
All your senses contribute to your enjoyment of a meal hence the focus on ambiance, how the food is presented, freshness of the ingredients, how the spices compliment each other etc. Michelin rates very few restaurants. Use Yelp or Google: 4.5+ places generally fit this criteria. Also, search for hole in the wall lists in whatever city.
Seems challenging to *just* rate how delicious the food is .. eg I prefer a certain style of Italian food which to me is more delicious than a fancy Italian place that's rated more highly.
Logic doesn’t work on food snobs. They don’t understand that taste is subjective.
so you want an ai trained off your taste buds. good luck!
No you just gotta try it all and make a mental note of the food taste
The “best” food is highly subjective and lists like this are all over the Internet.
I'm vegetarian so Michelin restaurants are the worst. Oh let me guess, one of the appetizers is a single baby carrot drenched in butter, and the main is two carrots on celery root or artichoke puree? How original. And only $200 you say? Wonderful.
Well said!
Most times the experience will influence how tasty the food *feels* to you. Deliciousness isn't objective. So it's gonna be highly influenced by the mood the host is able to set u in.
I’ve had the opposite experience. Some of the best food I’ve ever tasted has been at cash-only hole in the wall shacks with no service and ugly decor.
Maybe that's what puts u in a good mood. Maybe u had a few good experiences in such places and ur mind subconsciously just orients u to think the food is gonna be fabulous
