Added a + for anyone whose company identifies as a top tier company equal to FAANG. This poll is just a coping mechanism for me as I’m getting laid off in May and wonder how long I’ll be unemployed.
Every good engineer I know that worked at FAANG+ found a job within 1-2 months.

Yoe? TC?
Took me close to a year. It worked out for me in the end. But it very well could have not gone well. I’m really sorry for what you’re going through. Hang in there. The market has been terrible since Nov 22.

Sorry about that. But look at it in a positive way and be positive. Key is to be prepared. My experience as soon as I was laid off I got interview calls for very good companies however I flunked in loop interviews as I was not prepared so well. Finally all preparations and experience of attending multiple interviews I landed an average job after 3 months. Which seems so good now and I feel grateful in this job market. It only I was prepared defn I would have a better job now.
The good thing is you now have a base to keep looking for better jobs. May take several months but least there's no timeline pressure.
