I have to dilute some info to hide my identity. Title says all, which to choose? Context: non-eng, total YoE 3-5, no masters Currently at Pinterest: TC 250k, zero growth in career, work 3h a day, boring and low-impact FB first round offer: Base 145k, 10% bonus, RSUs TBD, no sign-on Recruiter is shooting for TC 205k + sign-on RSU refresher and Base increase in March'21 Best not to reveal position but it's definitely high viz high impact Updated: final non-negotiable offer 160k base, 10% bonus, 110k RSU, 20k sign-on = 203k TC Thanks for all the comments. I'll be leaving for FB because of below reasons: - I'm early in my career so building domain expertise and corporate politicking skills is key but Pinterest unfortunately does not provide such opportunities - on visa so a side hustle is out of the question - self-learning and side projects are important but advancing for my specific non-eng track depends more on work accomplishments - no financial or family obligations - I can boomerang to Pinterest in the future for a WLB on 400k but staying at Pinterest will not give me that I've been coasting for the last 6mo. I respect the me who landed myself the Pinterest job in the first place. And I wanna keep true to it. Just my 2c. #offer #tech
Pinterest wlb that good or are you an anomaly?
Anomaly but not too far from norm
Depends on the team
Stay at Pinterest and collect stock. Very good scope for growth!
If you're taking a paycut, go somewhere interesting, not Facebook lol. Go to a startup for impactful work, if that's what you're looking for.
Wow what do you do that’s non Eng that pays that much? And my 2c is to stay. If you want growth you can always push yourself to do something that isn’t asked of you at work, ask your manager for more responsibilities, or just start doing stuff on the side like classes or personal projects
Why not use the extra time to work on a side project that makes money?
Google didn’t win!!
Have you tried switching to another team at Pinterest if you're not happy with the one now? I agree with the commenter from Google--if you're going to take a pay cut to get more impactful work you should go to a startup. The chance you're going to get truly "high visibility" work at a company even larger than the one you're at now is pretty slim, especially at L4 level.
Stay at Pinterest. Also, can you give me a referral for new grad SWE at Pinterest. I’m literally begging on my knees. 🙏 🥺
Recruiters always say work will be high visibility, high impact, especially at big companies when it isn't. Ur sacrificing both TC and wlb just for a chance at better impact/promo...
Lol most one-sided poll of the day
