Back again with another Q. Currently Prepping for DE interview, mainly focusing on python right now (will start going through SQL next week with interview in about 2 weeks). I’ve been mainly focusing on lists, strings and dictionaries manipulation for prep as mentioned in the Blind posts I’ve seen but my recruiter mentioned twice to prep for Linked Lists, Trees, Heaps, Hash tables, Tries, Graphs and Stacks & Queues. Seems a bit like overkill to me as I’m thinking when will a DE use this on a daily basis but has anyone who’s interviewed for a DE role at Facebook in the last year ever had the latter type of questions asked??? #data #dataanalytics #dataengineer #dataengineerinterview #FB #Facebook #interviewprep #tech #DE
The DE interview at Facebook, from my understanding, is just algo questions in Python and some SQL questions. The algo questions will range from medium to hard but I've heard it's generally a bit easier than SWE. Dunno how difficult the SQL questions are.
OP, You're preparing onsite or phonescreen?
Telephonic (virtual). 25 mins SQL, 25 mins Python
What kind of SQL questions? just complex queries? or indexing/sharding/clustering... ? TIA
DE interview in fb is a lot easier than any titles in fb
How do they test data structures and algorithms?
Super easy leetcode
DE Generalist role. Any thoughts there?
I agree. I have interviewing for DE(analytics) clearly told list, dict and string to be prepared
Got it. Just need to find a site where I can get some practice in
The interviews for de is so freaking easy. I guess u r not a software eng? As no one wants to be a de in fb
Check Facebook data engineer interview questions on Glassdoor.. Couple of people I know got questions from the list.
Yep I’ve been scouring the site. Able to answer pretty much all those questions
Good luck with that.
Are there DE, BI roles in Google? How's the interview, salary compared to swe?
Please share interview details once done.
Glassdoor. Glassdoor. Glassdoor lol most of the questions I got were from there. I cruised through Python but stumbled a bit on the 3rd SQL question. Let’s see what happens
Were you able to answer all 10 questions? If not how many were you able to answer in each section?
What........
