Left Amazon for a company. After joining the new company for 2 weeks, I received a much better offer from a third company (a great team I already know its people from FANG in a field I'm very interested in, and higher TC). My manager has been great (I've done lots of interviews, so can gather strong enough data points even within just 2 weeks). When I told him about leaving after 2 weeks, he was sad to let me go, but still was very supportive. Now I feel sad to leave such a great manager. Any ideas what to do? P.S. I already left this company and not planning to change my mind in the near future.
The only thing I can take from this is - keep interviewing!
How did you take this from that?! It's a good advice though.
Yeah I agree.. its a great thing that you kept at it and found a better opp for yourself :)
So, you interviewed, took the job at Amazon, and left it in two weeks? Do you ever want to go back to Amazon? That seems extreme to start and leave so quickly. Are you worried you burned a bridge? Not trying to guilt trip you but wondering, aside from the TC and team at new job, compelled you to take a job and then leave so quickly. What’d you do with bonus and such?
No. I was at Amazon for years. Took a job at a company for 2 weeks and then left it for a third company.
Ok, that makes more sense now.
Refer him to your new company?
I actually am thinking about it.
Cool story
Leave. Don't regret. And you never know if he is real nice person or not with two weeks experience
This is the only high yoe guy on the thread :)
