I’ve got some big connections who came through - role I want coming out of college and money is good, but I’m weighing it against a role I really like at a smaller publicly traded fintech. Does SF as a first job out of uni definitely open doors down the road? my thought would be to get trained there and then jump ship for more dinero after two years - thoughts ?
Take it. Big name on the resume and hopefully a stable employer in these rough economic waters. I wouldn't give it a second thought.
Stable company (as far as stable goes these days) and you’re main objective out of school should be to learn. If you can earn - great. But learning now is what is gonna make you more money later.
Bay area is garbage, but you should take the job anyway, fintech in today's market could be pretty dangerous.
Take it , if you are not growing in current in rapid pace Recruiters look at blend of exp in your resume , which will help you in future!
SF does open doors potentially. I’d do it
Your connections would open more doors. SF on your resume does not matter. Good to have a wonderful daddy.
yeah well the odds of me getting hired there were about zero based on my demographics - so the one and only hook I have to even get past the AI first line rejection is my daddy - “don’t hate the playa hate the game”
Not hating anything - just stating the fact and address your question
can I negotiate comp? $79k is kinda light - but i guess they fund additional 25% as commission - maybe bonus on top of that - but swe friends still getting $200k from stripe and spacex
What is your role? How does it compare on levels?
