Hello I’m looking for gift ideas for my 9 year old son, who says he has everything and doesn’t need anything for Christmas! He likes reading, outdoor/indoor games and legos. I’m trying to get him something which he could use with his 5 year old brother, but at the same time isn’t digital (like tablets or phones) or connected. Thanks! #holidays #Gifts #Parents Update: Bike, 3D puzzles, legos, chess set, Rubix cube, ps5, drones, experiences, Rasp pi, musical instruments, books - you folks never run out of ideas. Thank you so much Blinders!! I don’t think I’ll go with Leetcode, SAT books for now, but I’m sure he won’t be sad to miss on those 😃 In the end, so we have time to wrap them, we finally decided to go with a Electronics Circuit builder set, some books and a Badminton set. We also bought a kids frisbee from Activ Life on Amazon, which looks interesting for outdoor fun. We’re working on getting him the large trampoline for his birthday in Feb. I’m sure he’ll love me more than he loves Santa 😉 I was hoping I could do all the outdoor hikes, museum visits and Disney world, but I’m just glad we’re all here to enjoy our life and have our families around us. I loved the suggestion to donate, so I’ve asked my son to pick 10 items in his toy collection he’d like to donate and I bought $25 Amzn gift cards for every item he picked to give away to my neighbors who’re in need. Thank you all 🙏
Chess set ♟
Nice! But he has one
Some Rubik's cube set Ukulele / instrument Bicycle/pogo stick/skates/skateboard
Trampoline!
That’s a great idea! Will look for one. Thank you!
No problem, just get the safest and highest quality one. Should be less than $1k. Enjoy!
Build a swimming pool in the backyard, they'll love it
We have a community pool, which we haven’t been able to use during covid. That said, a backyard pool takes away from space they can use to run around. The large open space in the backyard has really helped while staying home during covid.
This depends on the child but I have given mine museum memberships. We are in SF bay area so Cal academy and Exploratoriam have been our go-tos for years. Asian Art Museum has been there too. This year they are getting AHS botanical gardens membership.
We moved to Austin earlier this year and haven’t explored much. He used to love the Cal Academy and Exploratorium. There’s also the planetarium and CuriOdessey which they loved. I’ll probably get memberships once Covid is over and we get to see more of Austin. 😉
Museum memberships for 5 year old?
You have a gem of a kid who says he has everything, you did a good job!
Ask him to make a book wish list. I like the idea of a chessboard too.
He has a long wishlist and we do a chore chart so he can earn books at the end of the week. We got him a chessboard on his 6 th birthday and he’s now playing it all the time. Great gift - I agree.
Have you done parenting before? You sound like a genius to me, I have a 3yo and I currently feel like a complete failure.
You could gift him a telescope and a star map, will definitely help bump up your child's curiosity. You will have to guide them initially.
Get him a drone!! It ll get him outside and keep him occupied for hours and might even kickstart a new hobby
Gift him some tickets to new activities! Take him snowboarding, rock climbing, hiking, whale watching. Bonding is best gift
With covid that’s kinda difficult, but we do a lot of family time over the weekend, including hikes, stay at home movies and anything we can do with social distancing. I completely agree that bonding is the best gift ever!
Yea...save it for when covid is over 😂
PS5 for the kid and also one for me!
It’s digital and connected, but I can get for you. DM me your address
Hello Santa, How soon can i expect my PS5?
