Girls - I'm new to bay area and I've found that a lot of (not all) girls don't like being approached by guys in bars/ clubs. I've tried with not much luck. It worked in New York. I don't see guys approaching girls in the streets, markets, meetups, etc. either. Aside from apps, friend circles, how do guys and girls meet here? Where have you met your boyfriends? No trolls please
Uh..... Iβm not a girl but if I was, I donβt think it would matter too much where I get asked out. As long as their is a mutual romantic attraction. New York has way more single women than SF. In NYC they have to be less picky than in SF
How about in daily stand-up meeting? Would that be fine?
During stand up would have to be very brief. Include it as a bullet item for your what you are blocked on. If the answer is no, the format of the meeting would quickly move to the next item.
tinder, that's where I met current gf. the apps are really the way to go/most efficient.
True if you are top 1% attractive.
Bay area is a place with the larger population being guys rather than girls. So if you were a girl you too would hate getting approached by random guys every 10 minutes anywhere you go. Dating apps, meetups, friends of friends, etc is the common way.
What kind of meetups?
Any meetups that fit your areas of interest. You will meet people there and it will be a more normal environment for a spark to ignite rather than approaching someone out of the blue.
I've tried running, hiking, yoga meetups. Mostly guys. Very very few women. What kind of meetups do women enjoy?
Dancing/yoga
hiking, backpacking, literature, tea parties
Knitting could be a good idea π
I'll try that. thanks. Any other suggestions?
UX design meetups here in nyc are 70% girls :)
Coffee shops or outside on a nice day out or even parks as you're walking
Nice. Has that worked for you in SF/ Bay Area? What kind of conversations did you engage in?
I actually prefer guys to approach me this way. Just talk about the activity or a detail you see and then if both parties are interested, the conversation will pan out regardless :)
