You are overpaid 😀
Your PhD is irrelevant to your TC unless your research is directly applicable to your work in some in demand niche.
Agreed. PhD doesn’t seem to equate to non-research job performance. I put it on par with BS from average university since it’s so biased toward theoretical rather than practical application of principles.
How is your non CS phd relevant to you being a SWE?
Although my PhD was non CS but not exactly irrelevant. In my PhD I was solving mathematical problems (differential equations for mechanical systems) using computers. Where the code was written from scratch and using High Performance Computing in Supercomputers.
Overpaid. You wouldn’t get this tc tomorrow with 4yoe
You are saying that being at Apple? 😅
I’m saying this knowing what offers are being made today, and what people with equivalent experience make, yes. Overpaid means “Don’t leave, don’t renegotiate” which is a good advice. Your response is just childish
That’s good given your background. Could it be better? I mean sure, but the market is tough currently so I wouldn’t set expections too high right now.
Overpaid
You are at Meta and saying that? 😅
Mentor you are repeating your childish response everywhere. You got the community answer now deal with it and maybe stop being an entitled little (word for a female dog)
It's at much higher range.. Enjoy it..
Just be happy you have a job
