8.5+ yrs of experience Motivation: Want to get out of Amazon shit asap. This seems lowball to me. Also, it doesn’t seem there is scope of negotiation based on conversation with HR. Also, seems like GS has some trading restrictions which could be a dealbreaker for me. If somebody could throw lights on trading activities (stock + options) would be great.
I think at some point it will come down to which location you prefer/ your family if you have one. Remember one of your choices has no state tax
OP you'd better explain your motivation first, otherwise it does not make sense to jump for lower after-tax income
Really depends on whether you want wlb and job security or stress of getting piped.
Updated. Want better WLB
Having worked at a different comparable big bank, the wlb is unmatchable. Better than google by 2x. But the trading restriction is absolutely true you have to declare everything and wait for preapproval which sometimes takes a half hour sometimes a few hours but it lasts for 24 hours at least where I was so you’ll have to check what Goldman rules are. It’s not that bad if you hood long term but probably annoying at best if you say trade.
NY costs more than Seattle.
I laughed cause he won't survive with 185 base, need 250 min.
Ridiculous, I had friends when I was younger here surviving on 50k
DO NOT join GS. Been here more than 5 years and if you want DM me
Thanks! I’ll ping you.
Look for something else . GS offer is low
all bank offers are low the only good one is Cap1
Lol, cap1 pay peanuts.
If you join goldman, you'll have to close all brokerage accounts except fidelity, and every trade will need pre approval. Depending on the team certain stocks will be restricted entirely, and it's possible that ETFs will be your only available investments. Even ETFs will require approval. You can't sell anything you haven't held at least a month (might be 3 months, not sure the exact policy). Options will not be allowed.
This is gonna be dealbreaker for me
TQQQ is an ETF
L5 to VP that’s a huge jump but TC looks meh? What kind of sauce is that?
Don’t go
If you like tech go to Amazon. If you like politics and want to be MD in next 5-7y, come to GS.
This is true big banks are a political hot pot
It seems lowball to me. Does GS pay this much only?
