I recently accepted a new grad SWE offer with Two Sigma, and team matching will happen in June. Do y'all have any recommendations on what teams to look for? Any to avoid? Also, are there any big differences between teams in terms of WLB and comp projection? I have experience with Python, C++, Full-Stack. Low-latency sounds interesting, thought I don't have much experience with it. Blind tax: Current TC 🥜 Offer TC 300k
Platform is interesting to me, but modeling is cool as well
Hey are you core Swe or quant? and how was the interview process
These are all large organizations made up of smaller teams. I can pick any of these groups and say they have teams that are great and not so great.
This is the answer. There are good and bad teams in all orgs. The bad teams (with higher turnover) are more likely to hire you.
Are any of the organizations better in terms of learning opportunities or comp projection, or is that highly team-dependent as well?
There are a few specialist teams that are pretty hard to match with that do really interesting stuff, but in general, those “in the know” know that TE and ME are where the cream of the crop talent is.
What is an example of a specialist team?
^^ I'm interested as well
