I have an offer from Nutanix. I might be able to negotiate more RSU's given the recent stock decline. It looks like a good time to join. I have heard the work is good too. Do you think it is a good idea to join and the company has a future? Current TC: 175K in seattle, YOE: 2.5
Who said the work is good? OP, you are way, way off.
That's what I read online on glassdoor
Glassdoor is about as legit as love in a strip club.
Not sure why you would leave msft to join nutanix.
Different experience, want to move to the Bay area
@Wakeup There are so many from MS who are joined Nutanix right till Senior Directors level. The tech, transparent culture, work is much better in Nutanix as told me my teammates from MS
How’s Ntnx offer? Location? What’s your current comp and yoe ?
Updated the post with current TC. Recruiter has to get back with the Nutanix numbers. Asked me the expectations.
Ntnx in Bay or Seattle?
Don't believe the people who saw that the company is dead and all. There were some sales execution issues that happened since a quarter and it'd take 2 more quarters to see the results taking effect after the fix of sales execution issues. The current product and upcoming products still are rock-solid and you'd most likely like Nutanix better than MS like many of the folks from MS who joined Nutanix told me.
Ya, I agree on few points you said. Marketing and sales team makes a huge difference for any company. Even though products are good if you are not making enough sales then how good the product is won’t help much in longer run. Not every analyst who writes article about NTNX knows completely about product. They go based on Sales, Revenue and profit numbers. Stock will still stumble. If Sales and Marketing teams does not recover in coming quarters then there is a high chance NTNX will be sold out. Also, I got to know that NTNX is planning on layoffs in coming quarters to cut costs.Down the lane if they still don’t recover Dheeraj has plans on selling it. I personally worked with those top notch NTNX Sales guys who left NTNX. It’s very hard to find those sales guys who went above and beyond to sell NTNX products. You just lost people who could have made NTNX stable. Also, watch out as culture is already bad. In layoffs mostly hardworking or people who talk back are the ones who will be laid off. All the assholes will still remain at NTNX. Good Luck.
I also feel the same @uturn.
Aha. So this may be a ticket to the Bay Area for OP. OK, that makes more sense. OP, be careful you don't out yourself accidentally by posting your offer details here. How many offers do you think Nutanix has to MSFT employees outside of the SFBA?
Depends on the team you want to join...
I think company is in tough spot. Does not mean all is over. Lot of things to feel positive about. But somehow leadership is still grappling with situation. It could work for you. You have to show some patience. I am almost out due to my immediate manager
Definitely negotiate more RSUs given the recent drop. I am bullish on nutanix because the product is good, the market is hot, and the leadership and the rest of us are acutely aware of the gap and what needs to be done. Good luck!
Thanks for the positive vibe. To be frank, I was little scared after reading all negative comments here
They always say they know the gap but never seen NTNX fixing them. Talk to someone who are leaving the company or left the company. You will have a clear idea about pros and cons. You should definitely check on the team you are joining too. If you made a decision already, good luck with your career.
Someone tell me , is it a shit product or what ?
Dumbass, just told you product is good
Yes offcourse our koolaid is the best in town. Got it , thanks
LOL seriously? The company is dead and unrecoverable at this point. I have multiple friends there who are super unhappy and looking for exits. It's a total disaster there. Also go look at their jobs page for open positions, major key positions empty from all the people leaving and more on their way out. Out of curiosity what team did you get an offer from and what's the offer details?
Dead and unrecoverable? Come on guy.
Definently not dead and unrecoverable. Lots of change and speed bumps but we will come out of it.
