Google Hiring Pause - Update From My Recruiter
From my recruiter today, via email, on when the hiring pause will end. "Unfortunately we did get an update that we are extending the pause but no indication of when the next expected end date is. I hope we may get more clarity next week and I will reach out as soon as we hear anything" #google #googlehiringpause edit: I just finished the VO for L4 SWE when the pause started, the HC has not reviewed my feedback yet.

Yeah they got this last week. My recruiter mentioned hopefully knowing more on Thursday during their all hands
I still have an interview scheduled for tomorrow. Would be pretty shitty to waste a candidates time if we're not giving offers

It’s so so bad .. in the long run, reputation might not take a hit given so many people want to get there . But it’s so insensitive towards candidates who are currently in the loop

Which geography?
No one is surprised. My advice to everyone interviewing at Google: go through the process and then wait for an offer once the freeze has lifted, which means taking a different offer. Your offer should be good for a couple of months if not a year and then after you’ve been at the new role you can evaluate if you need to exit or stay. It’s not worth waiting on any company during a freeze.

Is the offer being good for a couple of months up to a year legit? How do you go about asking for this? I’m new to big tech so not super familiar with this as in the past, I have always been pressured to accept offers within a week or the offer is rescinded!
