Considering a Google offer but have some planned pto in 2 months. Is there policies around when you can take a week - week and a half of pto at Google if you’re new? Or as long as you have the days you’re fine? YOE 2 TC 100 #google
You can go negative PTO pool, this should be arranged with your hiring manager/team.
Thank you both! Are managers typically pretty okay with that or will it start me on a bad note? Want to move over but also don’t want to cancel plans to do it
Most managers are fine about it and you can go negative PTO with manager approval when you're new.
Thank you all, super helpful answers!
Your manager isn't going to expect you to be productive that quickly, so they're not going to care. Let them know like day 1 or even before if they reach out.
