Google folks! How ethical is this?

I donated to a random person who is in need of medical help based on a YouTube ad. Now I keep getting those ads whenever I open a YouTube video. I mean I'm all willing to donate based on my financial status but to look at heart breaking stories everytime I want to open a YouTube video.. is really not something I can take. I'm not Jeff bezos or Elon musk to donate to each and every person in need. If I really were one of them, I would have! Why don't you guys fix this in your algorithms? Too much of anything is not good. Yoe: 6 Tc: 160k

Can I get some of you donation too?

Samsung nonameX OP Dec 13, 2021

Well, just find a way to come into my YouTube ads!

Buy YouTube premium to avoid ads and donate to the Google L4s, two birds with one stone

Hey heard of this thing called an ad blocker?

Samsung nonameX OP Dec 13, 2021

Is there a ad blocker for YouTube app?

SAP odysseu5 Dec 13, 2021

Yeah .. horrible. These things are happening even if you don’t donate. Maybe you are using browser to open YouTube, instead of YouTube app?

Samsung nonameX OP Dec 13, 2021

No. This is on YouTube app itself.

SAP odysseu5 Dec 13, 2021

Okay! In browser you can’t skip those ads.

+1 its a big toll on mental health. I ended up disabling google ad preferences. Much peaceful now.

eBay hdgeubef Dec 13, 2021

How do you do that?

Amazon leftAmazon Dec 13, 2021

+1 I was going to suggest this

Google hEmi52 Dec 13, 2021

Adblock and the rest?

SAP uXuV60 Dec 13, 2021

Isn't it ironic that the people who need money pay money for the ads?

EMC batch.js Dec 13, 2021

I guess the easy answer is to never interact with ads ..

Google vRTu$965 Dec 13, 2021

This has happened to me as well and since I donate a lot, it shows a lot of these ads. It fades away after I spend money elsewhere or start searching for products. Unfortunately, it shows you stuff that you like to do.

Samsung nonameX OP Dec 13, 2021

Agreed! But I feel this can be categorized as one of the sensitive topics and not show them after a user has skipped ad a few times. As someone mentioned on this post, it's a toll on mental health.

Google vRTu$965 Dec 13, 2021

It’s a dilemma. But a good thought as you mentioned. Some ads are overly graphic and don’t respect the individuality of the subject itself. May be those ads should also not be allowed.
