Google hire decision wait time
I've been waiting for the hiring committee to make a final decision and it has been more than 3 weeks since my final interview. Today I received another email saying that the committee is waiting for headcount allocations. Is this normal for Google to take this long? The original job posting on google site is also no longer there. Appreciate the insights and any tips to speed up the process.
Headcount is tight right now... seemingly everywhere.

Hi, The same case is with me. 3 of my on-site interviews feedback were strongly positive and 1 raised slight concerns. I got the hire call from the HC but didn't get team match. Recruiter called and said that she is trying to get a team. I still have a chance of having an offer from Google? 😶

Do you have any other competing offers? Reach out to your recruiter and let him/her know that you have another open offer so that they can speed up the process. Assuming you performed well in interview. Typically wait time for google is slow. I am assuming that they are looking for some better candidate.
Don’t have a competing offer hence forced to wait. I had done well in my interviews. I had positive feedback from the first two interviews and waiting for feedback from the last two. I mailed to HM today to get his out of office. Do they normally fish for candidates as well? I thought if you clear the bar they do hire
If you did well, they’ll hire you...Bit again Google is damn slow in hiring process. And if you are on H1B this is expected, it’ll take some time for their attorneys to initiate a visa transfer and no updates will provided on the progress/status. One of my friend faced similar situation and he was hired. So patience is the key here. All the best..
This is pretty normal for my experience interviewing with Google. They are too slow during the interview process unless you tell them you have a competing offer/interview loop.
But it is too frustrating a wait.. 5 weeks and all I hear is waiting for feedback.. I even forgot what was asked during the interview
