Got rejected at Google India on-site. The packet wasn't even sent to the HC. Got two strong hire, two no hire. R1 - Chinese Dude. Couldn't even understand his English. In the mid-interview, he told me that I am solving the wrong problem. No hire. R2 - Went good. Was an easy design problem — strong hire. R3 - Aced it. The problem was of co-ordinate geometry — strong hire. R4 - Was a mixed round but I was expecting a leaning hire from this round. Two problems on strings. No hire. Overall it was an excellent experience, and I hope to try again in the year-end.
A lot of life is just luck man. I also got rejected from G. For my YOE I’m making just as much as I would at G anyways.
Yeah man, it's too random. But let's hope we succeed in the future.
Honestly I would’ve had to move and it would’ve put me farther away from family. It was probably best I didn’t get that job.
Good on you. Always a next time! If I may ask, how did you get the call?
LinkedIn.
Seems unlikely you actually got two strong hires. If you did you probably would have gotten to HC.
One was medium. Another one involved tries and suffix trees.
Do you mean a Chinese dude at Google India office?
Hangouts interview.
2 sh and 2 nh will send your packet to HC at least. Most likely some misunderstanding. You screwed up bad.
Really? The Chinese Dude was quite pissed off; maybe he wrote something terrible in the feedback. But recruiter was happy and told you were very close, try in 6 months again.
That's just what they say to make people feel better. TBH, if your packet is not even sent to HC, you are far from being close.
Yep I know he was sugarcoating the feedback. It's time to grind again.
Is the cooloff period 6 months? Or a year?
A year for same roles, 9 months for a different role
How many questions per round. One or two where the second is a followup of the first.
Except 1st round every round had some follow up on the base question. 2 per round.
I am in similar spot of bother. Gave onsite yesterday. Dont know if I will convert or not. https://www.teamblind.com/article/Google-onsite-feedback-pdqWJvWk

How did you know they were strong hires? Interviewers are not supposed to share rating
Recruiter told me 2 SH and 2 NH. I am guessing on the basis of that.
