Google vs Benchling vs Atlassian?

Expecting offers next week from at least one of these three (Google has given me very strong hints they’re sending an offer; others have yet to give feedback on onsites). I don’t have offer details yet, but assuming I get all three of them and they’re all similar in TC, what’s the best option? I’m leaning towards Google, but I’m thinking Benchling could be good for an IPO play, and I’ve heard lots of good things about what it’s like to work at Atlassian. I’m looking for good WLB but also solid TC. Thoughts? TC: 150k YOE: 3

What are the hints , waiting for my on-site result from Google

Myriad Genetics vJUn64 OP May 1, 2022

After finishing my onsite, one of the recruiters got in touch and said they were “very excited about the next steps!” Also talked about “working hard to get everything finalized,” which I assume means they’re finalizing an offer. Last time I interviewed (and was rejected), they scheduled a call without saying anything like that. Good luck!

I haven’t come across such enthusiastic and fast reply from google , before hand brat of luck

Join google, build a resume, then think about other "companies and IPO"

Myriad Genetics vJUn64 OP May 1, 2022

Yeah, Google on the resume feels like a strong move in general. But I want to buy a house soon, so a decent IPO at Benchling could help with that, if the equity is there. But that’s a gamble, too.

Google over atlassian. But Benchling if you're willing to work hard or smart enough to get away with minimal work

Myriad Genetics vJUn64 OP May 1, 2022

Tell me more about why Google over Atlassian. Have you worked at both? Or is the grass greener at Google because you’re at Atlassian now and not as happy as you thought you’d be?

Atlassian abcs1234 May 1, 2022

yeah i used to be at Google and the eng quality was higher, lot less tech debt, made life easier

Google any day over atlassian. I work at atlassian

Myriad Genetics vJUn64 OP May 1, 2022

Why?

Why?

Atlassian Maverik1 May 1, 2022

atlassian culture has gone down drastically.what you have heard may no longer be true.

Myriad Genetics vJUn64 OP May 1, 2022

That’s unfortunate. Is this a recent change?

If you have no problem moving and working in the office, Google. If you want permanent WFH, Atlassian. Depends on what you want ultimately.

Myriad Genetics vJUn64 OP May 1, 2022

I kind of like the idea of being in the office, tbh, just would rather make the choice myself of how often to go in. But one of my interviewers told me that people often go in T/W/Th, show up on the late side, and leave on the early side, which would work for me to avoid traffic and be able to spend time with my toddler in the morning or afternoon/evening.

Atlassian 1ofus May 1, 2022

Definitely go Google. Atlassian still has offices with the flexibility to choose your schedule but the offices are pretty empty for the time being. I suspect Google will eventually go fully back to the office but you can reevaluate when and if the time comes.

Google, then Atlassian, then Benchling.

Atlassian abcs1234 May 1, 2022

why Atlassian over Benchling?

Atlassian JIFFY_PIP May 1, 2022

Atlassian is bigger and more stable, which matters with a recession coming.

Atlassian iSqu01 May 2, 2022

Google. There's a fair number of people that have moved from Atlassian to Google but not the other way around.

Update?

Myriad Genetics vJUn64 OP May 8, 2022

Benchling is out, Google has team matched me and I think my packet is going to HC, and Atlassian set up what I think is an offer call for this week.

Square YXAA31 Aug 11, 2022

Benchling didn't give you an offer?

Atlassian abcs1234 May 4, 2022

offer numbers por favor?
