How do product teams at Google and Facebook compare? The actual work, growth opportunities, culture, etc.
Give up on google buddy
Google product is an oxymoron
I would be wary of anything Google right now.
I just got an offer from Google last week - did they freeze hiring?
LOL whats with all the FB folks in this thread
FB is all about moving fast and missing bigger picture so even though you have excellent view of product your timelines will be heavily driven by development teams understanding of impact as they need to show that in their PSC.
Have close friends at both. Depends what you’re optimizing for. Speaking in generalizations, PM at FB is probably the single best training camp out there for being a future founder/entrepreneur (and better than G) FB better than G for impact of PM vs other roles. FB better than G for promotion rate and resulting comp if you’re a rockstar. G better than FB for work life balance. G better than FB for executing longer term big bets across multiple teams well.
Curious who the most successful Facebook pms are who started successful businesses? Outside the very early employees.
I don’t know why you would say that. PM at FB are not as important as compared to other companies like Microsoft because engineers have to have direction axis in their PSC and hence they drive a lot of what PMs would in other companies.

US Government Collaborating with Open AI, Google, Alphabet leaders for AI Security??!
The ones at Facebook are still hiring so there’s that
An actually informative answer: Google invests in infrastructure to an extreme. They figure that building a solid foundation will support any product above it. Facebook builds products, and invests in infrastructure to support it. Fb infra is really good, but Google’s is significantly better. The difference is that Google makes more bigger bets, but has trouble focusing. I think Facebook focuses better, but not always on the right thing.
That was pretty well put.
