Got RFE in H1B Extension. Is it right time to change company?
Hi All, I just completed 6 years on h1 and my extension got an RFE. We are responding to that and meanwhile, I started interviewing for other jobs. Need your suggestion on 1. Is it a good idea to move for a higher salary and Brand at this stage? 2. Should I target role/destination or salary? (Management VS IC)? 3. Is there any risk moving companies at this stage? I have 140 approved in EB2.

Try fulltime employment with a reputed company. Don't work for consulting service based companies. They get the most of rfe

Side question, are you allowed to extend your h1 beyond 6 years? You have an approved I-140, is that why? Noob question, please excuse me
Once you have an approved I-140 then you can extend h1b beyond 6 years. Even if the employer has withdrawn the I-140(provided approval is 180 days old).
They're using these RFEs to identify abuse. Expect them to be common over the new few years.
Every one is getting an rfe these days. You will get one in job change also.
