Nokia Finland Offer
Got an offer from Nokia Finland. Trying to understand if this is good enough for family of 3 to move to Finland. Currently in Nvidia Pune. Yoe: 11 Current TC: 75L TC offered: 110k Euro Base: 90k Stocks and Bonus: 20k per year
How long ur NVIDIA TC will stay that high? I guess it’s stock appreciated TC.
The thing is with cost of living taxes your current salary and family being considered you should target 160-180 Euros as salary. But in Finland or anywhere in nordics getting such salary is fairly tough / only in top american mncs you will get it. Even 160-180 wont do a long way as this is what mostly 3-4 yoe people are paid in the tech hubs of europe. If i were you I will ask this to myself A. Is this a long term plan to finland/are you a despo trying to leave india thinking any foreign country is better. If its second case you will be in for a rude shock soon. B. Do you plan on coming back? In that case you need Inr savings so go to any hub like Dublin London Berlin Amsterdam. C. If you wanna settle long term frankly tell me can you and your kids integrate into finnish culture and speak finish? Can you tolerate the bleak cold? If not again you know the answer. If after all of this you want to go salary shouldn’t matter just go but then forget your life style in india. Your purchasing power will be of a lower - middle class person in Finland. Retiring will also be difficult. Most people dont think of all this because for us an abroad offer excites us so much that we are in our own small dream. Its when the bubble bursts that you realize you made a huge mistake.
@ChebKhaled have you been to Finland? Why would call someone despo…I mean just why? This is the problem with India…gyaan bht milta hai…OP asked if the offer is good…which is ok for Finland could be better…but you gave a life lesson…
