“Leaked Microsoft memo tells managers not to use budget cuts as an explainer for lack of pay rises: ‘Reinforce that every year offers unique opportunity for impact’” “Meanwhile, Microsoft’s chief marketing officer Christopher Capossela told employees angry about the lack of salary raises that their best way to increase their pay is to make the stock go higher—after cashing out $4.4 million worth of stock.” https://finance.yahoo.com/news/leaked-microsoft-memo-tells-managers-144817183.html #tech

I actually agree with the memo, the whole company should be aware that the budget is tight and that their rewards are tightly correlated to their performance.
if u work really hard this year, I can preorder the new roadster
What’s the fucking point of preorder when the car will never get built lmao
same was said about the cybertruck
MSFT leadership thinks little of their employees. No one will believe it’s not budget cut even if managers follow direction and lie.
Well allow WFH and over employement will beat any raise tbh
This isn’t feasible for most people who have a life outside work
Nope. End WFH and immediately terminate anyone attempting to OE on company time. @Microsoft Choose having a life outside of work or a second job. You should only have one job anyway.
Microsoft should just lay off more employees and reward the survivors.
Im ok with no raise to not get laid off.
I’m finally coming around to this line of thinking. You’re going to force out all the high performers who actually give a shit and do good quality work. They will eventually figure out their worth and leave. Which will leave all the lackluster ones and further degrade the company.
Excuse me while I go sell of my MSFT fortune.
Wow. You are a delisional sob to think saying opportunity for impact is a substitute for a raise
So I got no raise and less bonus than last year because of my performance despite Satya saying this was a universal decision? And somehow lying to our faces and trying to gaslight us doesn't erode trust? Our HR is very clearly full of the dumbest people to ever walk the face of this planet.
One of your HRBP left Microsoft to join Snapchat in Asia. Have to say, she isn't at all impressive and the fact that she came from Microsoft HR explains why she acted the way she did. Sad that Snapchat ended up with someone like her though :(
Microsoft is clearly telling you to leave if you can
In addition to this, incompetent managers spreads politics. Low pay -> compromised talent. Condition is really bad here
Glad I left msft in early 2022
Def compromised talent. A lot of people genuinely suck at what they do.
That’s not leaked, that’s intensional
