H1 Transfer dilemma
Hi, currently on H1 As a Full time engineer and got a new full time direct hire role with a startup in manufacturing autonomous vehicles( they raised a billion dollars last month and have 200-250 employees. They have previously been approved H1b for other employees without any issue). My profile : bachelors and masters in Industrial engineering and LCA title per SOC code also states industrial engineer - with wage level 2. Have 5 years work experience also as an industrial engineer / quality engineer. Is it safe to assume it is a straight forward case for transfer or always wait for H1 approval before starting a new job. New company has already waited for 3 months and they finally stated they cannot wait for another 4-5 months (or even more considering the backlogs for H1 approvals)
Even on regular processing? Because mine was later than Dec 22 and not eligible for PP
My case took 4 months in total and got approved after filing the premium 2 weeks ago. Another 4-5 might be too long. But overall 4-5 is totally reasonable given the current situation.
When?
Even on regular, it's 40-45 days. So, I am not sure if you or the company is missing something. What filing date does your receipt state? You said the company waited for over 3 months. After Dec 22, it's hardly 2-2.25 months.
They’ve only filed it on Feb 1st, I had the offer in dec 1st week last year but they did not file because I had to leave out of country. I’m kicking myself for doing that now ( in all fairness they thought PP would be reinstated for all )
