If you're from India, no country will fail you more than your India itself. But forget that for once, and does the H1B system, with 6+ month Visa processing times, feel like slavery?
Wtf? No country will fail you more than your India itself? What does India owe you?
Not India itself, but the state does owe it's citizens some fundamental rights. That's the social contract theory. I think that's what OP was referring to, and I don't think he's completely wrong.
There are fundamental rights in India. India gave you education that helped you move to a high paying sector in a developed world. Saying India failed you is a stupid statement. Most people in the world are born in developing or under developed countries. Op what have you contributed to make the developing countries better ? Also would you say your parents failed you because they are not rich as gates or Ambanis?
H1b from India have a hard time compared to h1bs from other countries but it’s not slavery since no one is forcing us to work without pay
By choosing to not stay in the country and contribute to its progress, at this point you are failing your country more than vice versa.
It's a tough contract not slavery. People get good returns if they manage to just suck it up and carry on. Wage slavery is slavery .
‘Wage slavery is slavery’ that’s a contradiction of terms
I m not that sharp Lyft bro. Eleborate plz.
Just remember if Congress comes to power tax might rise to 70%. So if you are in US remain there.
RFE sucks
H1b feels like getting out of slavery
Considering the massive amount of demand for it that’s a logical conclusion
As a naturalized American citizen from India my opinion is Silicon Valley depends on immigrants especially from India and China . I see everywhere H1bs just not hardcore software programming jobs . I see H1b’s as product managers, project managers, program managers, data engineers, data scientists, equity research analyst , nurses , doctors , pharmacists, physiotherapists and the list goes on and on . Just consider the high schools in Bay Area . Only 3 from cupertino , 2 from Palo Alto and one from Fremont Mission school district are top and good schools . All others are not that good .Also the percentage of kids want to do STEM is very very less .
Not a super coherent point
A higher percentage of American kids get STEM degrees than Indian kids. It's a numbers game, the low percentage of Indians who get STEM degrees is still a larger absolute number just due to much larger population size, and then because India has a horrible economy a large number of those seek to migrate to the US. But don't mistake that process for some cultural difference. Fewer Indians go to college than Americans.
Fuck these self entitled whining b*tches who think earning a top salary is slavery. You aren't entitled to work in the US, it's a privilege, and if you don't like the conditions of entry, don't enter. Go somewhere else, it's your free choice.
It’s not slavery if you opted in and knowing the rules beforehand.
No one knew it takes this long for a decision, get your research straight !
Well processing times before were like a month and now 6 months
